#AWorldOfGirls is a community/platform/project, dedicated to share and empower the livelihood of girls in all parts of the world. It started out as a photo project created by Bella Utami in 2016, but seeing all the amazing response to it she decided to further expand the project into an Instagram account and now, its own website.
Through photos, blogs, and interviews, we hope to capture and promote the similarity faced by female-identifying individuals all around the globe.
A World of Girls — for girls all over the world
Come meet the team that made it all happen.
Sonam Peden, your token vegetarian friend.
She doesn’t have a bucket list but is on a mission to tick everything off it. Enjoys listening to music during her commute to school, so she can look out the window and imagine herself in a music video/movie. Often spotted reading while listening to music, yes that is one of her many talents.
She’s that friend who keeps saying she wants to focus on her academics but somehow ends up doing a lot of extracurricular activities instead (like this one). She loves traveling and is an enthusiastic couch-surfer. Also, currently learning how to skate and looking for a job. (So please hire her!)
Undergraduate Student at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University,
Majoring in Accounting and Finance,
Class of Fall 2019.
She’s not one to catch your attention in a crowd— except maybe when she’s laughing. She’s the youngest out of three daughters. She grew up way too early due to the significant age gap between her and the rest of her family.
The voices inside her head never leaves, so instead she befriend them. Other than casual conversations, she also argues with them. Her way of finding serenity is by going to concerts, binge watching dramas, and munching on food. Chocolate is never an option to munch because if she does, she’ll get allergic reactions. She prefers sappy, happy, romantic comedy movies over horror ones.
She’s always too busy for her own good, but that’s what keeps her going in life.
Currently studying at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Beppu, Japan. Majoring in Environment and Development.
Her name was inspired from “Xena the Warrior Princess” movie (which she never watch of) and her last name is a re-creation of her sister’s friend name.
Bumping or tripping into something is her second best talent. A sucker for quotes and lyrics. Good food makes her REALLY happy.
Despite having to already watched it over and over. Friends is her go to watch series whenever she has a meal alone.
She named her dogs with languages that are not her mother tongue.
And whenever she goes out at night she’ll always tilt her head up and look for Moon, Mars and stars. And she would tell you about the rabbit that you can see in the moon.

Siti Zulfa Azzahra
She is a hopeless romantic who loves indulging herself in romantic movies while at the same time scoffs at the idea of a soulmate.
Her tongue can cope with any kind of food but she will always order the same dish whenever she eats out. She has this dream of traveling the world yet she's too comfortable reading books in her bed.
Currently majoring in International Relations and Peace Studies at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.
Hanny is a 5 ft 2 21 year-old whose lifelong dream is to become an astronaut. She talks passionately about inclusivity and gender equality while trying not to stay silent when her friends make fun of her for it. On her better days she also blabbers about her favorite Frank Ocean songs and the foods she plans to bake.
Her sentimentality and compulsivity may often come as overwhelming to some but these traits bring her joy when it comes to spending time with her friends and spending her money on things she doesn’t actually need.
Most times you can find her either burying her nose in a book, flipping burgers at McDonald’s, or completing her undergraduate degree, majoring in International Relations and Peace Studies at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.
21 years old and still a little bit too clueless about her life. Determined to find what she is truly passionate about, she travels the world to meet new people and see what the world has to offer.
She might seem quiet and reserved but her friends will say otherwise. Though she can be stubborn at times (she’s a Taurus!), she is empathetic and has a very kind heart. She loves listening to other people’s opinions and would sit through your rants.
Spending time with her friends and binge-watching TV Shows are her favorite pastimes. She remembers the lyrics to all three High School Musical soundtracks by heart and is a sucker for romcoms.
Currently studying marketing in Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Beppu.
By appearance you would be fooled into thinking that she is petite, optimistic and perhaps timid in nature. Oh alas, until she starts to speak and heads turn around in surprise for there comes the loud, strong voice, sharp knife like words and laughter like that of a witch that no one assumed to be hers.
Writing, poetry, reading, photography, singing, all things football(she will fight those who call it ‘soccer’), movies, tv shows (binge watch them specially), kissing the floor from all the hourly falls and trips (clumsiness might as well be her middle name), coming up with ideas enthusiastically but rarely ever following through, arguing quite about anything, food, food, food, desserts, sweets, candies, eating, lots of eating, seem to be some of her life’s finer passions.
Though an introvert by nature, the minute you get to know her, it’s a 180 degree flip. Vivacious, thought sometimes acts as if half dead, head filled to the brim with imagination and thoughts of all kinds possible. She is known to crack inappropriate jokes to which no one except her laughs.
A strategic management and organisation major, who is not quite organised, but strategising passionately nevertheless.
Long hair in a ponytail, and rarely seen without her earphones, clothes that match her mood, this rare species would be spotted studying in Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan.
A 21-year-old whose favorite day of the year is always her own birthday, but likes to describe herself as ordinary as a constant effort to always make room for growth.
Her hobbies include grocery shopping when she does not need anything, and saving money despite her struggle in Finance class.
Declared herself as someone whom you can talk to about anything, from household furnitures to that hot junior from your Japanese class. Always up for a good laugh, a serious talk, all you can eat restaurant dates, anything that is worth her time but never for a literal roller coaster ride nor a bungee jump.
About to graduate while achieving personal goals in less than a year from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan, majoring in Strategic Management and Organization.
She’s a walking contradiction. A social butterfly who constantly needs her me-time, a *self-proclaimed* wordsmith who has a hard time expressing herself in her mother tongue, and an overall cheerful friend who secretly likes writing depressing poems.
Her hobbies include; eating irrational amounts of food, be-friending strangers, and writing down detailed study plans on her agenda knowing quite well she wont follow through with them.
If you happen to come across her without a cup of warm water or tea in sight, best believe she’s probably going to catch a cold soon after.
A marketing major who loves to talk her way out of responsibilities and adulting.
Currently studying at the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan.
